Fitness and Health Social Media Conference Inspires

The first day, there was a pre-conference hike above Boulder. It was stunning and majestic and a group of around 20 of us went on it. While hiking, we engaged in meaningful conversation about who we all were, what we did, and why we were attending the conference. After the hike, as the sun set on beautiful Boulder, some of us walked to Pearl Street for a drink and an appetizer. Pearl Street was an epicenter of restaurants, bars, stores and the energy there was unique. Later on that evening, their was a pre-conference casual dinner, where more of us got to know eachother.

The next morning more and more people arrived and we all strolled through the takeaway suite where several health and wellness vendors with booths were giving showcasing their companies and organizations and giving away product and services similar to an expo hall. Then, the conference kicked off officially with a keynote by Dr. Hill from the Anschutz Center for Health and Wellness in greater Denver. It was engaging, informative, interactive and focused. Several breakout sessions were held afterwards throughout the day on topics such as social media, health and wellness, and more. There was a fitness class offered to participants after the conference workshops and seminars, and then on to a hosted dinner where more of us shared best practices in our fields and strengthened the bonds that were forming between us.

The next day, the conference moved from a hotel to the actual state-of-the-art Anschutz Center for Health and Wellness. Topics on health and wellness and fitness were presented in an environment that was inspiring and research oriented.

While I missed the last evening and the next day’s closing of the conference due to prior committments, I can relay that Zephyr Adventures did an outstanding job of putting this conference together, and I’m positive it will continue to grow and mature each year.

Right now, I feel a much more at ease and confident in my understanding of how to use social media in my fitness business. In fact, I believe I’m simply embracing it now and it seems more exciting to do and less like a chore. I also picked up some fitness and health tips and knowledge while making new friends and networking amongst bloggers and fitness industry people.
