 Summer is here and it's a great time to get in shape with an outdoor hike. The Fit Witt Adventure Club is heading out to Santa Cruz Island, about 20 miles off the coast of Ventura for a day hike this Monday, May 29, 2012 on Memorial Day. This diverse island features over 600 plant species and 120 species of land birds, and the possibility of seeing some whales in summer to and from the island.
The Boat leaves Ventura at 8a and departs back at 4p. It's $56 round trip ($51 for seniors). Seats are limited and selling out due to the holiday, so if you wanna come, book right away. You can reserve at this link: http://www.islandpackers.com/SCIGeneral.html Click on the blue button at the bottom "reserve with island packers", then choose the East Santa Cruz departure at 8a and the return to Ventura for 4p. If you have any problems feel free to call Island Packers at 805-642-1393. Please plan on arriving at the dock no later than 7:30a. Address is 1691 Spinnaker Drive #105B, Ventura, CA 93001 Pack a lunch as we'll be part of a free guided hike up to Cavern Point picnic area lookout with spectacular vistas. As always bring plenty of water and suncsreen. Expect heavy traffic driving back to LA from Ventura Monday evening.
