I was in very good company that evening amongst these other 9 incredible recipients:

Eric M Garcetti

Erin Gruwell

Jenny Ketchepaw

Atif M. Moon

…and of course, little ‘ol me; Jack Witt !!!

Every year the California Jaycee Foundation selects 10 young men and women between the ages of 18-40 from around the state of California who exemplify leadership and achieve excellence in community, social improvements, politics, philanthropic contribution, scientific contribution, legal reform, moral/spiritual leadership, athletic accomplishment, and legal reform.

I urge everbody reading this to step up and take control of your dreams, your visions, your inner strength and get involved in a good cause or community program of some sort. Remember that studies have shown that people who get involved and volunteer tend to be healthier and live longer, happier lives. If you’re not sure where to begin, check out a meeting or event with some of your local civic/community groups in your area such as Jaycees, Kiwanis, Rotary, Key Club.
