The study followed 100,000 women in 1994 until now over the age of 50. It found that 8 years into the study, optimistic women were 14% more likely to be alive then their pessimistic peers.
Optimistic people tended to eat better, workout more, and get regular doctor and health check-ups.
How can you be more optimistic? Consider meditating daily, drinking less, cutting down on caffeine, eating better, and increasing your workouts to get those endorphines going. Also, make some new friends and re-connect with some old friends. And most of all: DONT GET STUCK IN FRONT OF THE TV NEWS FOR HOURS. Turn the channel after you get the highlights and watch something funny or educational.
