I recenlty went on a 4 day hiking vacation in Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.  Majestic and Awesome are two words that slightly describe these parks. It’s the perfect way to decompress, soak in some sights, and actually get in better shape. Many of us gain a little weight when we’re on vacation, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Even just a moderate hike can burn up to 500 calories per hour. And that’s without any weight in your backpack.  Hike for just half a day, and you lose half a pound. Hike the whole day and lose a whole pound. Hike for 3 full days and lose three full pounds! You see where I’m going with this. Along with weight loss, you’ll drop in body fat percentage dramatically and increase your cardiovascular endurance.
