Vitamin D may help Prevent Heart Attacks

Recent studies show that men who have low levels of Vitamin D are at a higher risk of heart attack. It’s been shown that deaths related to cardiovascular disease are more frequent in higher lattitudes and during the winter months–when and where the sun rarely shines–and are less frequent at higher altitudes.

10-15 minutes of sunshine per day is recommended for ample Vitamin D absorbtion. Low fat Milk and Eggs (now in the healthy category again as the yolk that has cholesterol doesn’t produce cholesterol in our bodies) are also fine choices for Vitamin D.

Supplements are also available for Vitamin D.
